Application Updates

June 6, 2025 New federal lowest marginal personal income tax rate

The new tax rate for the first income bracket for individuals at the federal level for 2025 has been adopted in the Commons. This new rate of 14% comes into effect on July 1st and will ensure that for 2025, the effective rate will be 14.5% (taking into account the first half of the year at 15%).

All scenarios with 2025 taxation will therefore be put in read-only mode to allow you to preserve those that will have been submitted with the old rate.

February 14, 2024 Quebec Childcare Refundable Tax Credit Correction

A correction has been made to the calculation of the eligible ceiling for child care expenses for the provincial refundable tax credit for child care expenses.

This correction has an impact on the credit calculated in the event that the total childcare costs exceed the ceiling provided per child for this credit. So if you have scenarios with the following conditions:

  • more than one child in the scenario
  • daycare expenses other than reduced contribution or holiday camp expenses giving entitlement to tax relief, the total of which exceeds the admissible ceiling for the year in your scenario.

This correction is applicable to all years supported by JuriFamille, i.e. from 2008 to 2024.

February 7, 2024 Updated Canada Workers Benefits (CWB) rates for 2022, 2024 and 2024

Following publication of Schedule 6 for the federal income tax declaration, we have updated the rates for the CWB.

For 2022 scenarios, JuriFamille was using rates that had minor discrepancies with the official 2022 rates. They have been updated to the official 2022 CWB rates.

For 2023 scenarios, up until this update, the same CWB rates as 2022 were used. They have now been updated to the official 2023 rates.

NOTE: Since the correction might cause some changes in the child and spousal support calculations, the 2022 and 2023 scenarios are now marked as read-only.

For 2024 scenarios, since the offcial rates will only be published next year, JuriFamille uses the official 2023 rates.
